Fleet Electrification Pilot
The Fleet Electrification Pilot introduces the City’s first battery-electric pickup trucks and a charging depot at the Public Works yard, and compares their total cost of ownership against conventional vehicles over a 12-month period to guide future fleet purchases.
Milestone Progress
Start Date: 03/02/2026 End Date: 02/11/2027
Quarterly Analysis
The pilot reached 25% complete, up from 22% by 3 percentage points quarter over quarter, and remains green. Charging depot site prep is still complete with dueOffsetDays -40, and Yard B charging assets are behaving like infrastructure rather than gadgets, which is the point. The first 6 EV pickups delivered milestone remains in-progress with dueOffsetDays 35, with Fleet continuing to manage final acceptance and documentation for EV-PU-001 through EV-PU-006. The 12-month TCO comparison report remains not-started with dueOffsetDays 200, but the evidence base is now taking shape across routes, work orders, kWh, and avoided gasoline. At 25%, this is still a pilot, not a fleet conversion; that distinction protects the budget and the equipment.
Recommendations
Keep the green status by finishing the delivery acceptance file and reconciling each EV pickup’s asset record, charger assignment, operator cohort, and warranty terms. Extend the pilot carefully by identifying the next candidate use cases, but do not order additional units until the TCO report has enough operating months to support the ask. Prepare a Council-ready one-page dashboard showing percentComplete 25%, the 3 percentage point quarter-over-quarter movement, charger uptime, fleet availability, and open milestone status.
