Neighborhood Library Modernization
Neighborhood Library Modernization renovates the Eastside and Riverside branches and adds self-checkout kiosks at every branch, giving residents updated spaces and faster routine service.
Milestone Progress
Start Date: 10/29/2025 End Date: 10/09/2026
Quarterly Analysis
Progress moved from 45% to 50%, a 5-point quarter-over-quarter gain, and the initiative reaches the halfway point in green status. That is a meaningful milestone for Harborview residents: Eastside is complete 150 days early, kiosks are complete across all branches 30 days early, and Riverside remains in progress with 75 days to its milestone rather than drifting into uncertainty. The work now feels less like a set of projects and more like a service transformation, with faster routine transactions, more flexible public space, and staff time increasingly available for the people who need guidance. Our next risk is not momentum but consistency, making sure every branch experience reflects the same warmth and access that residents are seeing in the completed work.
Recommendations
Sustain the green result by conducting a midpoint readiness review covering Riverside schedule, branch operating impacts, kiosk reliability, and resident feedback trends. Extend the modernization model by selecting the next two branch areas for design scoping using Eastside outcomes, Riverside constraints, and service-demand data. Publish a simple resident-facing midpoint update that explains the 50% completion mark, celebrates completed milestones, and invites practical feedback before the next phase is locked.
